On the 30th of September, the European Commission launched a communication on the new European Research Area (ERA).
As written in the European Commission pages:

The ERA has been in continuous need of improvement, since first introduced in 2000 and a process to renew it began in 2018. The communication published on september 30th outlines the priorities of the new ERA; prioritizing investments in R&I, improving access to excellence, translating R&I results into the economy and deepening policies that promote the free circulation of knowledge.
The new ERA seeks to build European resilience based on a greener, digitally empowered, competitive and more sustainable Union. This requires joint efforts and global leadership in science and innovation, as well as engaging and empowering citizens.

Our guest this month is Ms Anna Panagopoulou who will take us through this recently adopted Communication and explore what implications it will have for the future and how it will impact the implementation of the future Horizon Europe framework programme.
Ms Anna Panagopoulou is the acting director of Research & Innovation Outreach Directorate at the Directorate for Research and Innovation DG of the European Commission.
