What does consolidation mean for the Internet Economy? Are Internet platforms „too big to fail“?

What would be the impact of the new Digital Services Act in Europe?

The fact that a few corporations dominate large parts of the Internet is not news. Today, a handful of actors play a significant role in our increasingly-connected societies. In this context, there is a growing concern about the dominance of a small number of corporations – typically Internet platforms – shaping the online world and its use.

The Internet Society’s European Bureau invites you to join us for an evening of networking and lively discussion in Brussels.

When: 17 December 2019 18:00-21:00
Where: Radisson Red Brussels, Rue d’Idalie 35, 1050 Brussels

Come meet others as you ‘speed date’ people from different communities and share thoughts on what consolidation of the Internet Economy means for regulation and a centralisation of power in the near future for Europe, and its potential impact on the Internet architecture, cybersecurity and all of us as Internet users.

You will hear from speakers representing civil society, EU institutions, business and technical community and take part of the discussions in a fun, casual and highly informative format.
