The JRC has launched an online survey to gather feedback from researchers who received financial support from projects funded under FP5, FP6, FP7, or H2020 framework programmes.

It is part of a bigger initiative to gain a better understanding of the outputs and impacts of biomedical research.

It targets researchers who have participated in EU funded projects during the past 20 years in the fields of breast cancer, prostate cancer or Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.

The survey looks into the following questions:

• How have EU funded projects contributed to innovation and major scientific breakthroughs?
• Have scientific results translated into socioeconomic impacts of benefit to society?
• What ingredients determined the success of research projects?
• What scientific methods and research approaches underpinned the advances made?

The results of the survey will provide valuable input into several activities the JRC is currently pursing in collaboration with the Commission’s Directorate-General for Research and Innovation. These include the development of indicators and methodology to assess the output and impact of EU-funded research in several important disease areas, and a recent initiative to bridge silos in the biosciences to promote better crossdisciplinarity in research.

So, if you have participated in EU funded projects during the past 20 years in the fields of breast cancer, prostate cancer or Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias then please participate in this survey – it won’t take more than 15 minutes of your time!
