EU Knowledge Valorisation Week

Making Research & Innovation Results Work for a Resilient and Sustainable Europe

The EU Knowledge Valorisation Week will take place from 27 to 30 April 2021. The virtual event will showcase policies and practices from across Europe that accelerate the translation of scientific knowledge into products and solutions for the benefit of society.

This new initiative, co-organised by the European Commission and EU Member States, will serve as a forum for peer learning among policy makers and stakeholders. It will foster a dialogue on opportunities and policy responses to ensure that our research and innovation investments pay off in helping to shape the twin green and digital transition and deliver jobs and prosperity in Europe.

It will also help to ensure that our knowledge valorisation policies at European, national, regional and institutional level stimulate, complement and reinforce each other within the framework of the European Research Area.

The EU Knowledge Valorisation Week takes the form of a series of webinars that are easily accessible via web streaming. The presented policy strategies and concrete practices cover a wide range of topics from inter-sectoral mobility, knowledge transfer intermediaries and smart IP management to industrial and place-based innovation ecosystems and unconventional collaborations for knowledge uptake. The event will be rounded off with a policy panel discussing what should be improved in combining the free flow of research results and data with strategic and economic interests in the light of recent experiences.
