EIT launches third call of its Higher Education Initiative

On 8 November 2022, the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) launched the third call of the HEI Initiative: Innovation Capacity Building for Higher Education. Under this call, up to € 12 million of EIT funding are available for higher education institutions and their partners to develop projects that will focus on capacity building and training talents in deep tech domains. Higher education institutions and non-academic partners from Europe and Horizon Europe associated countries are eligible to apply for the call, which will be open until 28 February 2023 and fund 16 projects in total.

The previous two calls launched under the EIT HEI Initiative awarded 50 projects representing over 290 higher education institutions and 300 non-academic organisations such as private entities, research centres, public authorities and associations. The initiative contributes to the recently launched Deep Tech Talent Initiative, a flagship action of the EIT, which aims at training 1 million Europeans in deep tech domains by 2025.
