Are you an established researcher looking for international career opportunities?

We have an offer for you: come to Lithuania to work as a PRINCIPAL RESEARCHER at one of our five newly established competence centres, focusing on:

  • chips (semiconductors);
  • drones (autonomous, remotely operated and connected systems);
  • microbiome and precision medicine;
  • plant phenotyping (for agriculture and agrobiological resources);
  • advanced disease modeling.

The centres are being set up by Lithuanian higher education and research institutions in partnerships with international counterparts from countries like Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands. The establishment process is coordinated by the Research Council of Lithuania and jointly funded by the state of Lithuania and the EU.

The multiple currently open positions of PRINCIPAL RESEARCHERS are open to level R3 (established) and level R4 (leading) researchers in fields like medicine, life sciences, physics, electronics, engineering, computer science, to mention a few. Additional positions in biology, agricultural studies and related fields will follow.

Your role would be key to shaping core research directions, agendas and strategies of the new competence centres; helping to further improve the quality of Lithuanian research and innovation; enabling the commercialisation of research and technologies; as well as to strengthening international presence of Lithuanian research and innovation.

International researchers, as well as Lithuanian researchers currently working abroad, are welcome and encouraged to apply.

The roles are for a 3-year period initially, with a possibility of extension.
