Clean hydrogen calling

On February 13, 2026, the LINO office, together with the national contact points (NCPs) of the Lithuanian Science Council (LMT) and the national contact points from Latvia and Estonia, organized an online event to present the Clean Hydrogen Joint Undertaking financing program, its calls for proposals, other funding opportunities, and European Commission initiatives in the field of hydrogen.

The event was well attended by representatives of universities, associations, companies, and other interested institutions from Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia.

Mirela Atanasiu, Head of Operations and Communications at the Clean Hydrogen Partnership, presented current funding calls and provided useful practical advice on how to prepare applications.

Katarzyna Anna Gryc, Policy Officer for Digitalisation, Competitiveness and Research and Innovation at the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Energy, reviewed the European Commission’s hydrogen initiatives aimed at bringing together science, policy, and practice efforts and involving stakeholders, and presented upcoming plans.

During the event, participants were actively encouraged to ask questions to representatives of the Clean Hydrogen Partnership and the European Commission, thus promoting strategic dialogue between the Baltic countries and European institutions.

The high level of interest shown by participants from the Baltic countries and the questions they asked showed that the region is ready to further strengthen its involvement in the hydrogen sector, from contributing to the development of hydrogen valleys and emerging hydrogen corridors to participating in other European Commission initiatives.

This event was a small but meaningful step in strengthening the strategic dialogue between policymakers and stakeholders in the Baltic countries.

We hope that the dialogue that has been initiated will continue and that even more organizations in the region will actively participate in future calls for proposals for the Clean Hydrogen institutional partnership.
