Science, technology and innovation (STI) systems have played a crucial role in the response to the COVID-19 pandemic, from improving our understanding of the virus and its transmission, to developing hundreds of candidate vaccines within a remarkably short period of time. But the pandemic has also exposed gaps that need to be filled in order to improve the resilience of STI systems and their preparedness for future crises.<\/p>\n

The OECD STI Outlook 2021 provides insights into how STI systems have responded to the COVID-19 crisis, and the unprecedented mobilisation of research and innovation that it has triggered. Drawing on new data across a range of science and innovation policy areas, the report also outlines steps that governments can take to strengthen their STI systems to address future environmental, health and economic crises.<\/p>\n

Join us on May 11, 2021 at 11:00 CET (12:00 EEST)<\/strong> for a presentation of the key findings from the OECD STI Outlook 2021 – Implications for Lithuania innovation policy debates<\/strong>, an event hosted by the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport and the Ministry of the Economy and Innovation of the Republic of Lithuania. The presentation of the Outlook will be followed by a Q&A session for participants.<\/p>\n
