Webinar ‘Fostering a common understanding of inclusion in the European Education Area’

Date/Time
Date - 24/06/2021
10:00 - 11:15

Neth-ER, ISO and LSVb cordially invite you to join our webinar ‘Fostering a common understanding of inclusion in the European Education Area’ on June 24th from 10:00 to 11:15. Join us for an interesting panel discussion on the meaning of inclusiveness of student mobility in the European Education Area.

Inclusiveness of student mobility

This webinar aims to foster a common understanding of inclusion in the European Education Area, with a focus on student mobility and the new Erasmus+ programme. Janine Costa, chair of the Education Committee under the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the EU, will give a keynote speech, followed by a presentation by Vicky Reichling, equality coordinator from the European Students Union (ESU). To stimulate the debate, there will be a panel discussion on exchanging best practices for a student-centred approach and inclusive access to mobility. Definitions and facilities for inclusive education differ across EU Member States and support needs differ for each student. As such, this webinar attempts to put the interest of the student at heart and explores a common approach to improve the inclusion of underrepresented groups of students in opportunities for mobility and internationalisation policies.

Topics that will be addressed include:

  • How do you identify the needs of students going on mobility?
  • What are some best practices on policies that address the needs of these students?
  • What are some best practices in increasing the access to mobility for underrepresented groups of students?
  • What are the remaining obstacles to overcome?
