On behalf of the Governing Board of UAS4EUROPE, the leading network of European Universities of Applied Sciences (UAS), I am delighted to invite you to our Launch Event of the UAS4EUROPE Action Plan for Innovation on Friday, 8 October 2021 between 10:00 and 12:00 (Brussels time).
During the event, UAS4EUROPE Vice-Chairwoman, Prof. Marjolijn Brussaard, will present the Action Plan for Innovation to Commissioner Mariya Gabriel, Slovenian Minister of Education, Science and Sport, Prof. Simona Kustec and the entire R&I community. The recommendations included in the Action Plan for Innovation have been formulated by an expert group of high-level UAS and innovation leaders with extensive experience in knowledge valorization and aims to respond to the Commissioner’s initiative of a European Innovation Area (EIA). The Action Plan will put forward concrete recommendations for how to ensure European competitiveness in the next wave of technological innovation in a sustainable, equitable and cohesive way.
Following the presentation of the Innovation Action Plan, a panel discussion moderated by Mr Isidro Laso Ballesteros, Cabinet Expert of Commissioner Gabriel for Innovation, will open up the debate to the applied research and innovation communities. The panel consists of Dr Sabine Herlitschka, CEO of Infineon Technologies Austria AG, Dr Luciana Vaccaro, UAS4EUROPE Chairwoman, and representatives of the European Innovation Council (EIC) and the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT).
The event will be kindly hosted by the Permanent Representation of the Netherlands to the European Union and will be livestreamed on our YouTube channel.
