The FIT-4-NMP team invites you to join a special innovation policy workshop dedicated to increasing the participation of newcomers in NMP projects.
FIT-4-NMP is a support action to increase the participation of talented newcomers from underrepresented regions in Horizon Europe research in the fields of nanotechnologies, advanced materials and new manufacturing processes (NMP) as compared to Horizon 2020.
To better understand the reasons for the low participation of newcomers in NMP projects, FIT-4-NMP conducted an online survey between April – August 2021 to gather information from talented newcomers and national research and innovation policy experts. The survey was completed by 128 respondents from 26 countries. It enabled three main issues relating to low participation to be investigated: relevance to newcomers, barriers to participation, and ways to increase participation in Horizon Europe. The key findings of the FIT-4-NMP survey report will be presented during the FIT-4-NMP Policy Workshop.
Building on the online survey, FIT-4-NMP investigated good practices and experiences in the implementation of policy measures to support participation in the Horizon 2020 programme and summarised the main areas of action that should be addressed at European, national, regional and institutional level in removing existing barriers to participation in the Horizon Europe programme. The key findings of the FIT-4-NMP good practice and policy measure report will be presented during the FIT-4-NMP Policy Workshop.
