The Mission Platform of the Mission for Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities (NetZeroCities) has launched a call for a new Twinning Programme. The aim of this programme is to support cities on the path to climate neutrality – teaming cities up according to shared challenges, opportunities, and emissions domains to make the systemic changes needed to reach climate neutrality.
This call will be open from 3 May until 30 June 2023 to cities based in EU Member States or Horizon 2020 Associated Countries. Any city can apply, selected as one of the 100+12 Mission Cities or not.
The call will pair selected Twin Cities with cities participating in the NetZeroCities Pilot Programme. Over the course of 20 months, Pilot and Twin Cities will be brought together through online meetings, workshops as well as site visits to exchange and build capacities. Not only will Twin Cities learn from the innovative activities driven forward by Pilot Cities, but a peer learning framework will ensure that both groups benefit from being matched up. In addition, Twin Cities will benefit from support provided by NetZeroCities partners, as well as resources on the NZC Mission Platform.
